Crystal Bay in Nusa Penida is one of Bali’s most renowned dive sites, celebrated for its crystal-clear waters, vibrant coral reefs, and seasonal encounters with the elusive Mola Mola (ocean sunfish). Situated on the northwest coast of Nusa Penida, the bay offers a unique diving experience that attracts both seasoned divers and those seeking extraordinary underwater adventures.


🐠 What Makes Crystal Bay Special

  • Mola Mola Sightings: From July to October, divers have a high chance of encountering the Mola Mola, which can weigh over a ton and reach 3 meters in length. These sightings occur when the fish ascend from deep waters (300–500 meters) to the surface at depths of 25–30 meters.

  • Rich Marine Life: Beyond Mola Mola, the site is home to reef sharks, turtles, Napoleon wrasse, frogfish, nudibranchs, and schools of trevallies, batfish, and sweetlips.

  • Exceptional Visibility: The bay boasts some of the best visibility in Bali, ranging from 15 to 30 meters, with water temperatures between 16°C and 26°C.
